I am all about getting creative! I promise this creek photoshoot for Elizabeth and John’s couple session did not disappoint! The best part is we planned this with just a few days notice.
Planning
Let’s begin with saying this adorable couple is no stranger to my lens. I have had the pleasure of photographing the Doby family since 2019. It all started with a maternity session for their sweet little girl, Addy.
I had another client who needed to reschedule therefore I posted the new availability inside my Facebook group (www.facebook.com/groups/blissfullyblurred). Elizabeth responded showing interest in a couple’s session. The planning process quickly began. Thank you to Amazon Prime because she was able to get her outfit ordered and delivered before Saturday. I instantly suggested water for the location and the creek inside Dover City Park seemed like the perfect spot.
The Creek Photoshoot
I have shot many photo sessions at Dover park. From family sessions, Christmas mini sessions, and even Addy’s 6 month milestone session. I always wanted to actually get down, into the water, for a creek photoshoot. Neither Elizabeth or John hesitated when I suggested getting in the water.
This is where the magic began. If you have ever booked a session with me, you know i’m not your average photographer. This applies to a creek photoshoot as well. I started with a few romantic couple pose followed by action prompts such as “hold hands and walk.” We laughed and had a great time and it 100% shows in their gallery. Their creek photoshoot was, by far, a success and inspired me to do more adventurous, spontaneous photo sessions.
